The Biggest Tour in History is
Now in Theaters

As the actual phenomenon, Taylor Swift presents the biggest of your tours, reuniting all of your 10 eras, mixing country, pop and alternative in one show. The Eras Tour is divided into ten moments: the Lover era is the opening act, followed by the Fearless era, then Evermore, Reputation, Speak Now, Red, Folklore, 1989, the Surprise Songs moment and, finally, the Midnights era.

This tour has been breaking records in all areas, with every single show around the world sold out in matter of time, it was almost a sure that Taylor would make a concert documentary as she’s been doing since the Fearless Tour. We just didn’t know the concert film would go to the theatres (she’s always surprising us).

The rumors started at the LA shows, she was about to perform at the last city of the first US leg of the tour for 6 nights sold out, starting on august 3rd. On the first night of The Eras Tour at the SoFi Stadium, the fans were surprised by a recording warning, bigger lighting bracelets than usual and professional recording equipment at the Stadium during the first 3 shows at the SoFi (august 3rd, 4th and 5th).

No official source confirmed the concert film as the first US leg of The Era Tour ended and Taylor started the Latin America leg of the tour in Mexico City. The show at the Foro Sol ended on august 27th and we still didn’t have a clue of when the documentary would be announced.

But then, as August sipped away like a bottle of wine, the last day of the month (31) came with a marvelous surprise. Through her social media, Taylor posted the official trailer of “Taylor Swift| The Eras Tour” as a concert film in theatres on October 13th (yes, the Friday 13th). The concert film was directed by Sam Wrench who worked with Billie Eilish, 5 Seconds of Summer, Camilla Cabello, BTS and others.

Days after the official announcement, international dates of the film's release were posted. Some of the countries, like Canada and Mexico, will exhibit the movie on 10/13 as in the USA, but some other countries, like Brazil, will exhibit the movie only on 11/03.

The movie, with a 2 hours and 45 minutes length, entered on tickets pre-sale in USA costing $19,89 for adults and $13,13 for kids (she’s so crazy, I love her). The concert film has, also, an official Instagram page @theerastourfilm for fans who wants to follow the World Premiere and official posts.

The concert film of The Eras Tour broke some records just on its pre-sale, proving the huge impact of Taylor and her current tour. According to the AMC Theatres, the film sold $26 million of tickets on pre-sale in the first 24 hours, surpassing “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. According to Deadline, in 24 hours, the film sold more than $37 million of tickets on pre-sale, on AMC, Regal and Cinemark, surpassing “Star Wars: Force Awakens” with $20 million. The film broke the record of the biggest debut of a pre-sale on Cinépolis Mexico, selling more than 292 thousand tickets, surpassing “Avengers: Infinity War”. The Sidney Morning Herald affirms that Taylor got more than $300 thousand in tickets in the first 12 hours at the Hoyst Cinemas, this number is 3x the pre-sale of the first Avatar movie.

According to the CEO of IMAX, Richard Gelfond, the film can reach 100 million dollars on its first weekend. Besides, her impact made some movie production companies change the release day of some movies just to avoid the competition: “The Exorcist: Believer” and “Priscilla” are examples. And a curious fact: according to WLKY, the film will be played in a drive-in in Kentucky, raffling a 22 hat every evening.

The World Premiere of “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” happened on October 11th at the AMC The Grove 14 in LA, with the exhibition scheduled to start at 7 PM. With 14 movie rooms reserved for the premiere, Taylor chose an Oscar de la Renta blue dress to attend at the theatre, with her mom, Andrea Swift, her team, the director, Sam Wrench, guests as Adam Sandler and Beyoncé and more than 2000 fans that received a special invitation sent by Taylor’s team.

As the sweetest person on Earth, Taylor bought pizza for everyone present at the premiere. She talked, autographed and took some photos with the fans on the red carpet. In the movie room, she thanked the fans for their support and said that due to the absurd demand some theatres in the USA and Canada will start the concert film exhibition a day before, on October 12th (she made a post on Instagram too).

After the premiere, according to DEADLINE 99% of the pre-sale tickets sold in the USA, during the weekend, are because of The Eras Tour Concert Film. Also according to DEADLINE, the film surpassed the full movie rooms in the USA of Barbie and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

As we all know the complete show of The Eras Tour is a little more than 3 hours in length, but the concert film is only 2 hours and 45 minutes, so it was sure some songs would be cut. On the Lover era, “The Archer” was cut, on Evermore “no body, no crime”, feat the Haim sisters was also cut, on Speak Now, she cut “Long Live”, on Folklore, “cardigan” and on 1989, “Wildest Dreams”. The interludes between the eras were reduced and the surprise songs of the film are “Our Song” on guitar and “You’re on Your Own, Kid” on piano.

Taylor had the best time watching the film, she really seems very proud and happy for everything. She sang, danced and screamed as if she wasn’t the badass artist on scream and as a cute person who thinks of every detail, the credits are exhibit as friendship bracelets with “Long Live (Taylor’s Version)” playing.

Until this moment, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” has 100% of approval on Rotten Tomatoes, as the result of hard work made with love above everything and we hope that in the future this film will be available on stream, so we can watch anytime and how many times we want.
